Steps/Stages/Phases


3 Levels:

Level 1:Pre-conventional - moral reasoning
stage 1- might makes right
stage 2- look out for number one
  • Get rewards and avoid punishment

Level 2: Conventional - moral resoning
stage 3- good girl / nice boy
stage 4- law and order
  • Community centered level

Level 3: Post-Conventional - moral reasoning
stage 5- social contract
stage 6- universal, ethical principles - few reach this stage
  • Centered on ideals
